Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Launch LGBTQ+ Resource Page

It is my honor and privilege to represent students of Area 3 on the Fresno County Board of Education. Each day, I work to ensure the students I represent have a safe, secure, and positive environment in which to learn and thrive, particularly those who identify as LGBTQIA2+.

A few months ago, in June 2021, Superintendent Jim Yovino and myself introduced Fresno County Board of Educations first PRIDE resolution, which passed unanimously with a 5-0 vote 🏳️‍🌈 I’m PROUD to announce that resolution also included Fresno County Superintendent of Schools first resource page for students (see below) of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Two-Spirited, and all other identities.

It is my goal, in partnership with the Fresno County Superintendent, to increase understanding of gender identity and expression, increase awareness of the risks that our LGBTQ2+ students and staff face everyday, and empower our schools, guardians, and community with the knowledge and resources necessary for ensuring our students feel safe, heard, seen, and supported.

If you would like more information about the LGBTQIA2+ resources available to students, faculty, administrators, and families, visit the Fresno County Superintendents Schools website.
